God works in His own time. What I must learn is how to do the same. I am living in eternity right now. I don’t have to wait until I reach heaven to have happiness, joy, love. What I do in this lifetime is a part of my eternity. And how I reach out to others will affect their eternity.
Sometimes I compare my life to a spiritual leader I admire and think, “I’ll never be as good or faithful or holy as he/she is. I don’t see how God can use me in His plan.” God looks on the heart of each of us, and thus, what “works” for one, doesn’t “work” for another. God doesn’t always move in the same way. He has plans for us according to the talents and personality He has given us.
We should live by the standard that we are all the children of God and not live by comparisons.
Guitars are not tuned to each other, but to a piano. Builders use the plumb line, level and square. The life of Jesus is our pattern. He is our blueprint.
Lord God,
Your faithfulness has established my ways. You will not direct me down any path where You have not gone before to prepare the way. You won’t require of me anything that I don’t have the strength to accomplish. I shall be planted in You and flourish in Your court, in your House I will bring forth fruit to glorify Your name. Your Spirit is within me to fulfill Your Word, write the vision, make it plain so that whoever reads it may run with it, Habakkuk 2:2.
Where there is no vision, the people perish, Proverbs 29:18. Let me see Your vision. Let me trust in your plans for my life. Let me communicate the melody of your goodness. Amen.
