Ever since the fall in the Garden of Eden, every one of us has experienced pain resulting from our sins that separates us from our Heavenly Father. We search for meaning, but can’t find it.
Today, I thought about the question Jesus asked Mary at the tomb as she was sobbing searching for him. “Woman, he asked? why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” She couldn’t see him because her tears were blinding her. And he was standing right in front of her. This made me think of how many times I have let the things of this world blind me from seeing Jesus and the result has caused me pain, tears and unhappiness.
My friend, are you searching for truth in your life but your tears of this world are blinding you from seeing Jesus, who is standing right in front of you? Has the world pulled you away from God by enticing you to believe that others have the answers that will bring you happiness? Our Father is calling you to seek His face, His Word—the Bible—and His truth that will fulfill your life.
Wipe away your tears and open your eyes. What you are searching for is standing right in front of you – Jesus! Quit searching for things in your life that will only bring you temporary fulfillment. Seek what will change your life and give you light in the world of darkness.
Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually (1 Chronicles 16:11).
