Lord, can those who call themselves Christians, who praise You for all to hear, then go on with their lives and continue to blatantly sin? And about those who truly seek to follow Your precepts but continue to live defeated lives, bound as prisoners to their sin?
Remind me as many times as it takes that not all of those who acknowledge You or even praise Your name know You. Some of them do not seek Your truth. And those who do know You, who love and follow You but are in bondage to sin, they neglect to grasp an important truth: Not only are they forgiven, they are empowered. They just forget.
Lord, You are speaking to me! I often fail to remember that I am empowered. Heavenly Father, Your Spirit lives in me, causing Your Word to renew and release every area of my life once held captive. I am equipped to tear down the walls that keep me from being all that You have intended. Your truth tells me,
His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence (2 Peter 1:3 ESV).
My almighty God, it is the same power that raised Your Son, Jesus, from the dead that now dwells in me! How can I stay stuck in sin any longer?
I have Your guidance and Your power to say no to sin and yes to Christ. I am empowered! I can live life worthy of what You have called me to do and strip off the old nature and live fully for You in my new life. My new life with You!
